Come in TODAY to sign up for Perrot's Summer Reading Program for Kids (program runsthrough Friday, August 3rd). This year's summer reading theme is "Libraries Rock!" Stop by our Summer Reading table by the computers in the Children's Wing any time the library is open. Our friendly teen volunteers will sign you up, tell you the rules and start a reading record for you. You'll also get to put your name up on our bulletin board. We'll keep your reading record here in the library. When you've read a book, tell a volunteer next time you're in the library and they'll write it in your reading record. You get a prize after you have read your first, third, and fifth books! At the conclusion of the program, you may take your reading record home with you.
Parents, you can also pick up a reading record for your littlest ones. We have special sheets that give you ideas for early literacy activities to share with your child. Children get a sticker for each activity they complete with a grown-up.
Each week in July, you will have to answer a trivia question about Perrot Library. We will randomly draw from all correct answers each week to pick our prize winner. We will have a tote bag full of brand-new books to give away each week!
Teens- don't forget to call each Monday to get your pick of volunteer hours for the following week! Trained volunteers may volunteer up to 6 hours a week, whenever the library is open (MWF 9-6, TTH 9-8, and Sat 9-5). The last day to volunteer is August 3rd.
