For Ages: Pre-walking babies

Description: Stories, songs, rhymes, and bounces encourage babies and their caregivers to explore language and pre-literacy skills. Children attend with an adult caregiver.

Duration: 20 to 30 minutes

Current Offerings: Drop-in.

* Mondays at 10 A.M., January 25th-April 5th. No program on 2/15.

For Ages: Walkers aged 12-24 months

Description: Especially designed to develop language and literacy in the very young. Children attend with an adult caregiver.

Duration: 20 to 30 minutes

* Tuesdays at 10 A.M., January 26th-April 6th. No program on 2/16.

* Tuesdays at 11 A.M., January 26th-April 6th. No program on 2/16.

For Ages: 12-36 months

Description: Tunes and tales for one- and two-year-olds. Children attend with an adult caregiver.

Duration: 30 minutes

For Ages: 2- and 3-year-olds

Description: A sampler of stories, songs and fingerplays for two and three-year-olds. Children attend with an adult caregiver.

For Ages: Families with children aged 3-6

Description: Bring your children (in their pajamas, of course!) for bedtime stories, songs, and fun! Children attend with an adult caregiver.

Duration: 20 to 30 minutes

* Thursdays at 6:30 P.M., January 28th-May 20th. No programs on 2/11, 2/18 or 4/15.

For Ages: 4- and 5-year-olds (pre-Kindergarten)

Description: Rhymes, songs, and book-sharing for Pre-K kids. Children attend independently; however, parents and caregivers must remain in the Children's Department for the duration of the program.

Duration: 30 minutes

For Ages: Families with children ages 4-8

Description: A sing-along program featuring live music!

Duration: 30 minutes

For Ages: Children ENTERING Grade 1

Description: Books, stories, songs-- and arts and crafts, too! Children attend independently.

Duration: 60 minutes

For Ages: Children ENTERING Grades 2, 3, and 4

Description: Kids will explore a high-interest subject in story and craft. The theme of this program changes each session. Children attend independently.

Duration: 60 minutes

For Ages: Kids in Grades 4 and 5

Description: Book sharing for serious young book lovers! By special application only. PLEASE NOTE: The club is currently full. New applications will be accepted in May 2010.

Duration: 60 minutes

Winter/Spring 2010 Meeting Dates: By registration only.

* Tuesdays at 4 P.M., January 26th, February 9th, February 23rd, March 9th, March 23rd, April 6th, and April 20th.

For Ages: Kids in Grades 6, 7 and 8

Description: Book talks and book sharing for Young Adult readers. For AVID readers only! By special application only. PLEASE NOTE: The club is currently full. New applications will be accepted in May 2010.

Duration: 75 minutes

Current Meeting Dates: By registration only.

* Fridays at 4 P.M. on January 22nd, February 5th, February 26th, March 12th, March 26th, April 9th, and April 30th.

For Ages: All ages welcome

Description: Songs and stories in Italian. Children attend with an adult caregiver.

Duration: 30 minutes

Current Offerings: Drop-in.

* Tuesdays at 4 P.M. on February 2nd, March 2nd, March 16th, March 30th, and April 27th.

Description: Stories and songs in Japanese (geared toward native speakers). Please call Mrs. Hayashida at 203-554-6264 for more information.

Duration: 45 minutes

Current Offerings: Drop-in.

* Thursdays at 4 P.M. on January 14th, January 28th, February 11th, February 25th, March 11th, April 8th, and April 22nd.

Please plan to arrive several minutes prior to the start time of drop-in programs to allow time to park (additional parking is available on Arch Street and Laddins Rock Road), enter the building, and make a nametag for your child.

Programs will start promptly on the hour.
