PAT-A-CAKE

For Ages: Pre-walking babies

Description: Stories, songs, rhymes, and bounces encourage babies and their caregivers to explore language and pre-literacy skills. Children attend with an adult caregiver.

Duration: 30 minutes

Summer Offerings: Drop-in (no advance registration required)

*     Mondays at 10 AM on July 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th

EARLY WORDS

For Ages: Walkers ages 12-24 months

Description: Specially designed to develop language and literacy in the very young. Children attend with an adult caregiver.

Duration: 30 minutes

Summer Offerings: Drop-in (limited to the first 20 children and their caregivers who sign in before each session)

*     Tuesdays at 10 AM on July 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th

*     Wednesdays at 10 AM on July 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st

*     Thursdays at 10 AM on July 11th, 18th, and 25th and August 1st

TALES FOR 1s AND 2s

For Ages: 12-36 months

Description: Tunes and tales for one- and two-year-olds. Children attend with an adult caregiver.

Duration: 30 minutes

Summer Offerings: Drop-in (no limit)

*     Mondays at 11 AM on July 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th

2s AND 3s TOGETHER

For Ages: 2- and 3-year-olds

Description: A sampler of stories, songs and fingerplays for two and three-year-olds. Children attend with an adult caregiver.

Duration: 30 minutes

  PJs AT PERROT

For Ages: Families with children aged 3-6

Description: Bring your children (in their pajamas, of course!) for bedtime stories, songs, and fun.  Children attend with an adult caregiver.

Duration: 30 minutes

*     Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 PM on July 9th, 11th, 16th, 18th, 23rd, 25th, 30th, and August 1st

 FUN FOR 4s AND 5s

For Ages: 4- and 5-year-olds (pre-Kindergarten)

Description: Rhymes, songs, and book-sharing. Children attend independently; however, parents and caregivers must remain in the Children's Department for the duration of the program.

Duration: 30 minutes

STUFF AND NONSENSE

For Ages: For children entering Grade 1

Description: Books, stories, songs-- and arts and crafts, too! Children attend independently.

Duration: 60 minutes

SPOTLIGHT

For Ages: For children entering Grades 2, 3, and 4

Description: Kids will explore a high-interest subject in story and craft. The theme of this program changes each session. Children attend independently.

Duration: 60 minutes

YOUNG YOUNG CRITICS' CLUB (Y2C2)

For Ages: Kids entering Grades 4 and 5

Description: Book sharing for serious young book lovers! By special application only. Applications for the 2013/2014 school year are available online and at the Youth Services Desk-- the last day to interview is June 13th!

Duration: 60 minutes

Summer Meeting Dates: By registration/special application only.

*     Tuesdays at 4 PM on July 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th

YOUNG CRITICS' CLUB (YCC)

For Ages: Kids entering Grades 6, 7, and 8

Description: Book talks and book sharing for Young Adult readers. For AVID readers! By special application only. Applications for the 2013/2014 school year are available online and at the Youth Services Desk-- the last day to interview is June 13th! PLEASE NOTE: Applications/interviews for the 2013/2014 school year are for the waiting list only!

Duration: 75 minutes

STORYTIME IN ITALIAN

For Ages: All ages welcome
