The Runaway Bunny

I know, I know, who hasn’t already read this classic book? It has a special place in my heart because my mom used to read it to me. I love the contrast of the black and white pen-and-ink drawings, followed by the colorful illustrations of the little bunny’s imaginings of life on his own. And then at the end, when he decides he might as well stay and be mommy’s little bunny, there is a final cozy spread of a patch of ripe vegetables, a beautiful night sky, and a warm and bright rabbit warren nestled beneath a big old tree.
